Just because...

Do you ever sit down and scrapbook - just for fun? I mean, you do not have a story or a great, new picture or even an idea? Have you ever just sat down and wanted to play with paper and paint and embellishments or whatever you have sitting there and wanted to make a page? So then you go find a photo that will work with your supplies and just go for it? Well, I do this a lot. This means that I may scrapbook a picture more then once. I might not have any journaling. I may not even be able to come up with a title. But I am okay with this. I do not have to have anything epic to be able to create a page. I'm so happy that my scrapbook is filled with pages that the meaning is really in the creating, and not much else. I am really, REALLY okay with having just a pretty photo album. Sometimes, the meaning is in the doing. That is what this page is...

I had these awesome American Crafts Amy Tangerine papers and things. I had a new pen that I really wanted to try out and I had a challenge from a Big Picture class I am taking, so I figured I would just play and have fun.

I used my pen on some doodling. This is fun.

And the fun bright colors really do remind me of my girl.

Scrapbooking is supposed to be fun. Really. Although there a lot of different reasons why we scrapbook, the creativity, the process, the results should be enjoyable. I mean, it is a hobby. I think there can be too much pressure, whether internal or external, for there to be a story or a reason or an important meaning to scrapbooking and I think it is VERY ok to let that go and just have fun, play, create and enjoy what you are doing. Ultimately, my pages are for me, so it really gives me the freedom to just have a good time. I hope you take the time to ENJOY your hobby as well.
